Pendleton High School was well represented in Charleston, SC on Wednesday, March 12, 2014 through Friday, March 14 at the HOSA State Leadership Conference and Competition. Eleven students competed in health care and medical-related events. The following students competed:

Each of these students did an amazing job. For most of them, it was their first time participating in the state competition. Five of our students qualified for the National HOSA competition by placing in the top three in their event. Tara Hamilton-3rd place, Randa Finney-2nd place, Emily Claypool- 2nd place, Michaela Loar-2nd place, and Nick Hix-1st place.

Pendleton High School also took home the award for the highest percentage of HOSA membership growth in the state for our chapter at 51%, as well as an award for “The 100’s Club” for having over 100 registered HOSA members.

At our State banquet on Thursday night, each chapter’s Outstanding HOSA Member was recognized. Our Outstanding Member was Randa Finney, a senior who is enrolled in our CNA program this year and worked with the Sports Medicine Work-Based program – working with the PHS Bulldog football team this year.

The qualifying students will attend the National HOSA competition in Orlando, FL in late June. We are so excited to see this program grow, as well as the enthusiasm of our students and support of our school and the Anderson 4 School District. Congratulations to these students for a job well done and for the IMPECABLE behavior on this trip, representing our district at the highest level.

Congratulations is also extended to our outstanding HOSA teachers, Debbie Teusch and Rhonda for the amazing job they do with our students!

4K Registration

Anderson School District 4 is gearing up for the 2014-2015 school year by holding our 4K registration. We designated Wednesday, March 6, 2014 as our kick-off for registration. Nearly 100 parents showed up to register their child. We will continue to accept registrations throughout the year, however, we will screen the potential students on April 3-4, 2014 and begin the placement process.
